T Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh annealing terhadap ketangguhan baja S45C setelah di-hardening dan pengaruh variasi suhu terhadap ketangguhan benda uji. Penelitian ini diawali dengan proses hardening pada variasi suhu yaitu 800â—¦C dan 900â—¦C dengan holding time dari masing-masing suhu selama 2 jam kemudian disusul pendinginan cepat (quenching) menggunakan media pendingin air. Setelah itu dilakukan proses annealing pada suhu 840â—¦C selama 2 jam. Ketangguhan baja setelah proses perlakuan panas diuji menggunakan pengujian impak pada tiga jenis suhu yaitu 0â—¦C , 25â—¦C dan 100â—¦C. Metode yang digunakan pada pengujian impak adalah metode charpy. Dilanjutkan proses pengujian mikrostruktur untuk mengetahui struktur mikro hasil dari proses heat treatment dan dianalisa. Hasil penelitian adalah proses hardening dengan media pendingin air akan meningkatkan kekuatan impak dan proses annealing dengan media pendingin air akan meningkatkan ketangguhan baja S45C yang telah di-hardening.

T The aim of this research are to knowing the influence of annealing to S45C steel toughness after hardening and the influence of variations of temperature object test. This research begins with the process of hardening on temperature variations are 800â—¦ C and 900â—¦ C with holding time of each temperature is 2 hours followed by quick cooling (quenching) using water cooling media. Next on the annealing process at austenisation temperaure is 840â—¦ C for 2 hours. The toughness of the steel after heat treatment processes tested using impact test on three types of temperature 0â—¦ C ,25â—¦ C and 100â—¦ C. Impact test used charpy method. Continue the process of testing the microstructures to know microstructure result from the process of heat treatment and analysed. The results are hardening process with water cooler will increase the impact strength and process annealing will increase the toughness of S45C steel which has been hardened.
