L LATAR BELAKANG Stres adalah respon non-spesifik tubuh, seseorang dapat dikatakan mengalami stres,ketika orang tersebut mengalami suatu kondisi adanya tekanan akibat tuntutantuntutanyang berasal dari dalam diri dan lingkungan, Kejadian stres masih tinggidan sangat bervariasi pada berbagai kelompok di Indonesia, mencapai 14% daritotal penduduk indonesia. Mendengarkan musik menyebabkan pendengarmengalami reaksi emosi yang positif, merangsang pengeluaran endorphine danserotonin sehingga pendengar merasa lebih relaks. METODE Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain penelitianpotong silan. Menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling, 210responden dibagi secara proporsional pada 3 fakultas yang berbeda sehinggadidapatkan jumlah sampel yang dibutuhkan per-angkatan adalah 24 mahasiswa diuniversitas X, Jakarta Barat. menggunakan kuesioner frekuensi musik, genremusik, dan DASS-42 untuk pengukuran tingkat stres. Analisis data menggunakanuji Chi Square dengan tingkat kemaknaan yang digunakan besarnya 0,05. HASIL Tidak terdapat hubungan karakteristik responden, mendengar musik dengan tingkatstres, hubungan antara jenis kelamin dan tingkat stres menunjukkan nilai p = 0.478,sedangkan untuk hubungan umur dengan tingkat stres menunjukkan nilai p = 0.176,Hasil analisis hubungan frekuensi mendengar musik dengan tingkat stres padamahasiswa menunjukkan nilai p = 0,911, dan hubungan antara genre musik yangdisukai dengan tingkat stres pada mahasiswa menunjukkan nilai p = 0,547 KESIMPULAN Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara karakteristik responden (umur danjenis kelamin) dengan tingkat stres pada mahasiswa, dan hubungan mendengarmusik (frekuensi dan genre) dengan tingkat stres pada mahasiswa.

Data analysis used Chi Square test with the significance level used is p =0,05 RESULT There is no relation between the characteristics of respondent and listening to musicwith stress level, relation between sex and stress levels showed p = 0.478, while the relation between age and stress level showed a value of p = 0.176.
