L Latar belakang: Kebisingan yang tinggi dan dalam waktu yang lama memberikan efek yang merugikan pada tenaga kerja, terutama pada indera pendengaran. Tenaga kerja ini memiliki risiko mengalami gangguan pendengaran. Untuk dapat memahami jenis kerja terpajan bising dalam durasi yang lama dapat menyebabkan gangguan pendengaran maka dilakukanlah penelitian. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan studi observasional dengan desain potong silang yang mengikutsertakan 46 orang pekerja baja di Jakarta Barat. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara wawancara menggunakan kuesioner yang meliputi usia, jenis kelamin, jenis kerja, durasi kerja terpajan bising dan lama masa. Pengukuran nilai ambang pendengaran dengan menggunakan alat audiometri juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui normal atau terganggunya pendengaran pekerja pabrik serta derajat ketuliannya. Analisis data dengan menggunakan SPSS for Windows versi 20.0 dan tingkat kemaknaan yang digunakan besarnya 0,05. Hasil: Analisis uji chi-square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara jenis dan durasi kerja terpajan bising dengan gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik baja dengan masing-masing memiliki nilai p = 0,016 (p < 0,05), di mana pekerja dengan jenis pekerjaan di bagian production dan durasi kerja terpajan bising >8jam kerja lebih memiliki risiko mengalami gangguan pendengaran dibandingkan dengan pekerja dengan jenis pekerjaan di bagian office dan durasi kerja terpajan bising ≤8 jam kerja. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara jenis dan durasi kerja terpajan bising dengan gangguan pendengaran pada pekerja pabrik baja

B Background: High intensity noise in a long period of time gives bad impact to the manpower, especially to the sense of hearing. This manpower tends to have a risk of having a hearing disorder. Therefore, a research about this case has been done in order to comprehend that a long-term noise exposure causes hearing disorder. Methods: The research used an observational study, applying crossover design, which includes 46 steel workers at Jakarta Barat. Data collection was done by interviews, using a questionnaire that covers age, gender, type of work, duration of noise exposure and duration of work. Using audiometric tools, measurement of threshold values of hearing was done in order to identify the condition of labors’ hearing, as well as their level of deafness. Data analysis using SPSS for Windows version 20.0 and significance level used in this method are equal to 0,05. Result: Analysis of the test chisquare there is an interdependendent between type and duration of work affected with noise and hearing disorder of steel workers with each have a value of p = 0,016 (p < 0,05), where workers with type of work at the production and duration of work affected with noise >8 hours of work have more risk of hearing disorder compared to workers with type of work at the office and duration of work affected with noise ≤8 hours of work. Conclusion: There is an interdependent between type and duration of work affected with noise, and hearing disorder of steel workers.
