I Industri fast-moving consumer goods (fmcg) memerlukan proses distribusi dan pengepakan yang cepat dan efisien untuk memenuhi tingginya permintaan pasar. proses pengepakan yang masih melibatkan perpindahan barang secara manual menyebabkan rendahnya efisiensi operasional dan terbatasnya kapasitas proses. oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem conveyor otomatis berbasis programmable logic controller (plc) dan human machine interface (hmi) untuk mendukung proses pengepakan produk eceran di industri fmcg. metode penelitian meliputi studi literatur, pengumpulan data, perancangan hardware dan software, instalasi sistem, serta pengujian. sistem menggunakan plc wecon lx3v-2416mt-a sebagai pengendali utama, hmi wecon pi3043ie sebagai antarmuka operator, serta sensor photoelectric tipe diffuse dan through-beam untuk mendeteksi keberadaan barang. program plc dikembangkan menggunakan ladder diagram untuk mengatur logika kontrol, interlock, timer, dan monitoring sistem. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem conveyor otomatis berhasil bekerja sesuai perancangan. pengujian timing diagram menunjukkan bahwa conveyor shopping, conveyor inlet, conveyor outlet, dan carton sealer dapat beroperasi secara sinkron melalui mekanisme interlock. hasil pengujian sensor menunjukkan nilai accuracy sebesar 86,67% pada sensor 1 (x11), 93,33% pada sensor 4 (x14) dan sensor 6 (x16), serta 100% pada sensor lainnya. hmi mampu menampilkan status conveyor, sensor, digital input-output, emergency system, serta pengaturan timer secara real-time. selain itu, sistem conveyor otomatis mampu mengurangi waktu proses pengepakan dari 1075 detik menjadi 1028 detik atau meningkatkan efisiensi waktu sebesar 4,37%. berdasarkan pengukuran arus rata-rata sebesar 3,84 a pada sistem tiga fasa 380 v, konsumsi energi listrik sistem sebesar 16,16 kwh per hari untuk waktu operasi 8 jam. dengan demikian, sistem yang dirancang mampu meningkatkan efisiensi dan kemudahan monitoring proses pengepakan produk eceran pada industri fmcg.

T The fast-moving consumer goods (fmcg) industry requires fast and efficient distribution and packaging processes to meet increasing market demand. packaging operations that still involve manual product handling often result in low operational efficiency and limited processing capacity. therefore, this study aims to design an automated conveyor system based on a programmable logic controller (plc) and human machine interface (hmi) to support retail product packaging processes in the fmcg industry. the research methodology consisted of literature review, data collection, hardware and software design, system installation, and testing. the system utilized a wecon lx3v-2416mt-a plc as the main controller, a wecon pi3043ie hmi as the operator interface, and diffuse-type and through-beam photoelectric sensors to detect product presence on the shopping conveyor, inlet conveyor, and outlet conveyor. the plc program was developed using ladder logic to manage control logic, interlocks, timers, and system monitoring. the results show that the automated conveyor system operated according to the intended design. timing diagram testing demonstrated that the shopping conveyor, inlet conveyor, outlet conveyor, and carton sealer operated synchronously through an interlock mechanism. sensor testing yielded accuracy values of 86.67% for sensor 1 (x11), 93.33% for sensor 4 (x14) and sensor 6 (x16), and 100% for the remaining sensors. the hmi successfully displayed real-time information on conveyor status, sensor status, digital input-output status, emergency conditions, and timer settings. furthermore, the automated conveyor system reduced the packaging process time from 1,075 seconds to 1,028 seconds, representing a 4.37% improvement in time efficiency. based on an average current of 3.84 a in a 380 v three-phase system, the electrical energy consumption was 16.16 kwh per day for an 8-hour operating period. therefore, the proposed system improves the efficiency and monitoring capability of retail product packaging operations in the fmcg industry.
